How We Work

The Morro Bay Open Space Alliance aims for collaborative land use solutions. We work with property owners to find mutually satisfactory ways to preserve/conserve sustainable public benefits such as open space and viewshed, as well as maintain key value for the owners.

Community education and involvement

We promote the values of open space through member support and through outreach to other community organizations.

MBOSA provides a channel for interested citizens to inform decision makers about land use and policy issues and potential developments in surrounding open spaces.

We organize and implement activities that allow people who care about open space to participate in our activities, contribute to our efforts and make a difference for future generations.

Our ultimate purpose is to preserve and conserve open space around Morro Bay.  To this end we aim to establish conservation easements that preserve views, provide access for low-impact recreational uses, and preserve the traditional character of Morro Bay.
